Byrd Enterprises, LLC is happy to announce they have been awarded a contract from OmniLink Corporation, of Dallas, Texas, to fulfill the US Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirement for data center facilities management services. Support provided to CMS will fall primarily under two areas. The first will be facility support, capacity planning, and performance monitoring in support of CSM’s mainframe computer operations at its Bureau of Data Management and Strategy. The second is support to CMS’s microcomputers and local area networks. Byrd Enterprises employees will also provide computer security, data base programming, help desk support, telecommunications, systems programming and associated administrative support services.
OmniLink is supporting Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Services on a $1.27 billion, single award contract that was awarded to Lockheed in December of 2008. OmniLink was brought-on by Lockheed Martin, to fill hard-to-find, quick-turn CMS requirements. OmniLink approached Byrd Enterprises to take advantage of their experience and proven capabilities in sourcing, recruiting, staffing, and on-boarding personnel. By contracting for Byrd Enterprises services OmniLink felt they would have a greater chance for success in staffing experienced personnel for in Woodlawn, Maryland, and throughout the United States.
When asked about the significance of being added to the DOJ Contract, Byrd Enterprises President and CEO, Ken Byrd commented, “the contract to support OmniLink and hence Lockheed Martin allows us to demonstrate our capability in the areas of Facility Support Services, IT Services, and Staffing. With this work as part of our background we can now bid similar government and commercial work as a Prime Contractor.”
